~Table Rock~

On July 20th for my Dad's birthday we decided to go hike table rock. It's a 12-14 mile hike depending which trail you hike up. We went up Face which is pretty much directly uphill. It's very steep too. But that wasn't the worst part believe it or not! And then we came down Huckleberry. Face is 5 miles and Huckleberry is 7... (I hate Huckleberry just to let you know...)

Well this is actually the Table rock the we were going to. My mom took this when we were very close to being done. 

This is the view headed up to table rock. See that tiny white line in the middle of the trees?? Yeah that's the road we drove up on... We gained a lot of elevation in a few short 3 1/2 hours.

This part is at the very end and it's very slippery and steep. Well it was slippery because my shoes had no traction what so every... But to rest I had to sit down so I wouldn't fall.

So the whole hike i was trying so hard not to fall. That didn't work out so great.. I sliped on a really narrow switch back and cut my leg on a rock... lovely right? Well it was windy while coming down and the blood dried really fast so I was perfectly fine :) 

Sorry there are no pictures of us at the end and there is a reason why.. Well we were all dirty and sweaty and I was absolutely DEAD! Those shoes ^^ were terrible! There are no soles in them so I could feel every single rock I stepped on... My feet were going to fall off I swear! Well when we got home I couldn't even walk... I sat down on our stairs and my feet were so swollen they were literally sausages! Haha :) I don't know why people would go back and do that hike over and over again... They are crazy!! :)

Colored Rice :)

When I babysit my cousins i'm always looking for stuff for them to do. I found the recipe here. All you need is: 

1 1/2 cups of rice 

2 tbsp of vinegar

and some generous drops of food coloring

The website said to use bowls to mix the rice but i used ziplock bags. Less mess and i could give them to my cousins and my nephew to mix.

Mix well until the color has coated the rice. Make sure you don't get too crazy with the rice shaking because it will explode. Our purple exploded :/

 Then spread parchment paper on cookie sheets and put the rice in the oven at 175 Degrees F.  for 10 minutes at a time. I ended up doing 20 minutes.

I had the boys pour the rice on the sheets and I spread it out with my hands and It did die my hands but it washed off.

We did 6 colors (from left to right) Green, Blue, Red, Orange, Yellow, and Purple is in the very back and its really dark. :) 

The boys and I really enjoyed making it! but I really dont know what to do with it afterward... I put mine in a jar like rainbow.

 

4th of July

Usually on the 4th of July our family doesn't do much. All we really do is go to our family dinner even thought there's a parade and fireworks. This year we decided to go to the parade, but we skipped out on the fireworks.

Adam liked that everyone was outside with him :) 

But he had to be doing something and that something was trying to run into the street. So grandpa held him :)

Magic Play Dough

Sense I've been babysitting I'm always looking for something for the boys to do during the day! Recently I found this Magic Play Dough recipe here. I made the mix and took it over to my cousins! They thought it was so cool because it changed colors and it smells good! The Only problem I found with it was that it's really really sticky and I'm constantly putting flour in it :/

Summer!

So my summer has been on a stand still because I thought I was going to have jaw surgery. Well it turns out that I'm not going to have it this summer it will be next summer. I have too much growth to happen in my jaw to do the surgery! So I've had one lazy summer!

Although I have been helping my Aunt Mandy and watching my cousins Ben and Zach a couple days of the week. But anyway they're always telling me they're bored and I saw this really cute idea on Pinterest it's an "I'm Bored Jar". It's a jar with slips of paper for them to do when they say "I'm Bored!"

Here it is! I got all my ideas here. There's print outs of labels and all her ideas too! 

I got everything i would need for the jar :) I put everything in a cloth grocery bag to transport :) 

~Summer Camping~

Last weekend we decided to go camping, so we took my cousins, Ben and Zach. It was lots of fun!

Adam loves to be outside all day, so camping was the perfect solution!

The boys begged and begged my dad to go fishing, so my dad walked them back and 15 minutes after they started they couldn't even get a bite! The boys didn't want any part in fishing any more! They were terribly bored, so they begged and begged to go back to camp.

My parents bought inflatable kayaks, and we all needed life jackets too! Adam looked so darn cute in his! Don't you think?? :)

ArIzOnA oUtInG!

My oldest sister Stacy lives down in Az with her cute little family, and her friends put on a little baby shower for her! We received an invitation to it (considering we live in Idaho it's a little 'out of the way') but my mother really wanted to go. We drove the 14 hours on Friday went to the shower with Stacy and drove back the 14 hours Sunday after church :) We know it's a little crazy :)
